A good inner pillow is critical to enjoying a dakimakura. We are currently working on getting one with a quality we are happy with.

Dakimakura, also known as body pillows, are a large pillow originating from japan that are designed for cuddling. They bring warmth to sleep and can help with back issues and side sleeping.

The real value for a lot of people is how they ease the heart. The world is cold and harsh sometimes. Loneliness has taken a sharp increase and we are more disconnected from each other then ever before.

Our body pillows are no stand in for real companionship. But when things are bad enough sometimes finding that special someone feels impossible. Sometimes we just need a little hug to tell us it's going to be ok.

Its Lonely Pillow's firm belief the AI art and hand-drawn art both have a place in the modern day. AI art provides a cheaper option for those struggling day to day but still desperately need the comfort a dakimakura brings. At the same time, there is inherit value in hand-drawn, hand crafted work. If there wasn't, places like Etsy would never succeed. It brings a personal touch, a premium option for those with the money to spare.

Lonely Pillow's first objective is to provide value and comfort to our consumers. All art and dakimakuras we produce are reviewed for quality. We understand that AI art is a hot topic, but it's our hope to show that it can be just as beautiful.

AI does a lot of interesting things. It can produce amazing images, but it has a tendency to get some details wrong.

We make a significant effort to clean our AI images, but to keep the price low we do not aim for perfection. If small weird details impact your hugging experience we strongly recommend our Premium, hand-drawn dakimakura range.

Our dakimakura are made-to-order. This means there will be a lag time to create the product AND ship it. To get the benefit of bulk pricing, we also print in batches, every week or two.

This means orders will typically be shipped ~14 to ~21 days after the order is made. This is not a guarantee as holidays or unexpected events can slow the process down. Including shipping time, we expect orders to arrive 30 to 40 days after they are made. Additionally, delivery to remote regions will take longer.

2Way Tricot is the industry standard for quality dakimakura. Our 2WT is stretchy and smooth, but is not quite as good as the best Japanese printers (such as P80 and Shiromoufu).

Modified is our attempt to replicate some of that smoother silky feel of these
quality brands. These use a slightly edited formula and produce a much better
hugging experience. It is smoother, thicker and more pilling resistant compared to regular 2WT.

2WT is widely considered the best material for dakimakura. It's smooth and silky to the touch, stretchy for easy fitting and hold ink well.

Modified 2-way-tricot needs to bet set for optimal experience. If a part of it has a weird texture, stretch to the seems and the texture will smooth right out.
